January 18th, 2024 – (Prince George, BC): Conservative Party of British Columbia Leader, MLA John Rustad made the following statement:
“Right now, only 16% of all energy used in British Columbia is electricity. For BC to achieve our goals, in terms of economic growth and environment — we need change. We need more reliable, affordable electricity. “To open the door to more electricity for cheaper, the Conservative Party of British Columbia will end the old, out-of-touch NDP-BCU/Liberal ban on Nuclear Power in BC. Technology has changed — we shouldn’t be afraid of a conversation on safe, affordable, clean nuclear power. “British Columbia must regain the ability to be energy self-sufficient, and to provide the affordable electricity we need for a stronger, cleaner future for everyday people. Wind and solar have a place but they cannot provide the reliable baseload electricity BC needs.“It’s time to get away from small-minded NDP-BCU/Liberal thinking that has held back BC for years.”
