Bruce Banman was first elected as the Member of the Legislative Assembly for Abbotsford South in 2020 and was re-elected in 2024. He currently serves as the Official Opposition Critic for Tourism.
A resident of Abbotsford since 1982, Bruce has spent decades serving the community he calls home. Before entering provincial politics, he served as both a city councillor and Mayor of Abbotsford, gaining valuable experience in local government, infrastructure, public safety, and economic development.
Bruce previously enjoyed a successful career as a chiropractor and small-business owner. His professional background gave him firsthand insight into the challenges facing patients, families, employers, and entrepreneurs and continues to shape his practical, solutions-focused approach to public service.
As MLA for Abbotsford South, Bruce advocates for agriculture, affordable housing, public safety, health care and responsible economic growth. He works closely with residents, businesses, agricultural producers, community organizations and local leaders to ensure Abbotsford’s priorities are represented in the Legislature.
In his role as Critic for Tourism, Bruce advocates for the businesses, workers, attractions, and communities that contribute to British Columbia’s visitor economy. He remains actively involved in the Abbotsford community and is committed to being accessible to his constituents, listening to their concerns and bringing their voices to Victoria.
