Kiel Giddens was elected in 2024 as the MLA for Prince George–Mackenzie and currently serves as the Official Opposition Shadow Minister for Labour.
Before being elected, Kiel built a career spanning government, the private sector, economic development, and major projects. He spent more than a decade helping develop British Columbia’s LNG industry, including work on the largest private-sector investment in Canadian history. Throughout his career, Kiel has worked across Northern B.C. building partnerships, engaging communities and industry, and connecting people and businesses with economic opportunities.
Kiel has also held senior roles in the Government of British Columbia, including serving as Chief of Staff to the Minister of Environment and the Minister of Transportation and Infrastructure. He has worked in ministries responsible for forests, natural resources, and labour, with experience in areas including energy, forestry, mining, wildlife management, workplace safety, infrastructure, and labour relations.
A Past President of the Prince George Chamber of Commerce, Kiel has been a strong advocate for small businesses, jobs, and economic growth. His community involvement has also included serving with Board of Directors of the Spirit of the North Healthcare Foundation, the College of New Caledonia President’s Industry Council, and the Regional District of Bulkley-Nechako Strategic Workforce Opportunities Team.
Kiel and his wife, Elyse, are raising their two sons, Thomas and Charlie, in Prince George. As MLA, he is focused on being a strong voice for Prince George, Mackenzie, and Northern British Columbia — championing the industries that drive the North, creating opportunities for families and businesses, and helping build communities where the next generation can prosper.
