Macklin McCall is the Conservative MLA for West Kelowna–Peachland and serves as the Official Opposition Whip in the Legislative Assembly of British Columbia. A lifelong Okanagan resident, he is dedicated to advocating for safer communities, accountable government, and a stronger future for British Columbia.
Born and raised on his family’s farm in Okanagan Falls, Macklin learned the values of hard work, personal responsibility, and service to others. He studied Criminology, Psychology, and Sociology at Okanagan University College before embarking on a 19-year career with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police.
As an RCMP officer, Macklin served in frontline policing, traffic enforcement, major investigations, emergency response, public order policing, and specialized mental health policing. His experience working directly with victims, families, and vulnerable individuals provided him with a deep understanding of the challenges facing communities across British Columbia.
Since being elected MLA, Macklin has focused on public safety, emergency management, affordability, and government accountability. He previously served as the Official Opposition Critic for Public Safety and Solicitor General and Critic for Emergency Management. He also introduced legislation to establish the British Columbia Volunteer Corps, a province-wide emergency response framework designed to strengthen disaster preparedness.
As Official Opposition Whip, Macklin works closely with caucus leadership to coordinate legislative operations and support MLAs across the province.
Macklin is a strong advocate for improving transportation and healthcare infrastructure, supporting local businesses, strengthening emergency preparedness, and protecting the rights and freedoms of British Columbians. He remains committed to listening to residents, advancing practical solutions, and ensuring West Kelowna–Peachland has a strong voice in Victoria.
