Misty is a proud Langley native, having spent her life living, working, and raising her two daughters in the community. Her lifelong connection to Langley has fueled her passion for public service and has provided her with a firsthand understanding of the unique challenges faced by one of B.C.’s fastest growing regions. From her early years, she’s been actively involved. As a participant in local advocacy and serving as a municipal councillor for the Township of Langley, her mission has remained consistent: better investment in health care, improved transit and transportation, and stronger supports for growing communities.
Beyond public office, Misty’s professional background has proven to be an asset in her role as an elected representative. With experience in the pharmaceutical software industry, as a small business owner, and a seasoned project management professional in construction, Misty draws on a well of expertise that informs her work in the Legislature and the community. Since her election to the Legislative Assembly, Misty established herself as an effective advocate and legislator, she successfully introduced and passed Bill M214, the Firefighters’ Health Act, creating Canada’s first health care plan specifically designed for firefighters. She also became the first opposition MLA to successfully amend a government bill, securing improvements to the Intimate Images Protection Act. As the Official Opposition Critic for Infrastructure and Construction, Misty is a strong advocate for investments in health care infrastructure, hospital and long-term care expansion, transportation improvements, upgraded schools and delivering major projects to British Columbians.
